Look Up and Light!

Dear Little MAE,

Two of my favorite pictures from today's outing in DC.

First, from the National Gallery of Art. I wish you could have been there to see this. Can you see how the painter captured the light?

Here is a closer look.

Do you feel how the light moves from the right to the left and how both the girl and angel appear to be glowing? I imagined a big bright window in the top right hand side of the room. It's morning and the sun is rising. Do you see the sun rays in the part of the girl's hair and upon her forehead, sleeves and wrists? Doesn't this picture just make you feel warm inside? And yet the girl seems to struggle to memorize the notes she plays and so she prays. God sends his angel to her rescue. God is always with us....in the Light and his Angels are always near by.

My second favorite, is from the ceiling of the Smithsonian Castle.

Always remember to look up! I love how the light just speaks to you. Doesn't it look like it's saying, "Alleluia, Alleluia, ALLELUIA!"?! Interesting. Today it was raining.

Love you. Hugs and Kisses,
Mommy and Daddy
